Treat yourself this Christmas, with Lyme Bay Winery

It’s December so there’s no escaping it: Christmas is coming. Whether you are full of the joys of Yule or more of a ‘bah humbug’ kind of soul, Lyme Bay Winery has plenty of festive products to put you in the mood or lift your spirits.


Raise a glass to our Christmas drinks


For starters, we’ve got a fabulous selection of seasonal drinks that are delicious on their own or in combination with other Christmas tipples.


• If you are making your own mulled wine, try adding some Elderberry and Port for extra flavour.


• Try our Christmas Sparkler: pour 50mls Strawberry Liqueur, 50mls orange juice and 50mls cranberry juice in a tall glass. Top up with sparkling water, add some strawberry slices and enjoy.


• Cherry Brandy Fizz: mix 50mls of Cherry Brandy and 25mls lemon juice into a cocktail shaker or large jar and shake vigorously for 20 seconds. Pour into a glass and top up with sparkling water to taste.


• For a quick and easy party drink, add a tot of Blackcurrant Rum to a flute of Brut Reserve Sparkling Wine.


• Sloe Gin Fizz: mix 50mls of Sloe Gin and 25mls lemon juice into a cocktail shaker or large jar and shake vigorously for 20 seconds. Pour into a glass and top up with sparkling water to taste.


• And for those ‘medicinal’ moments, keep sniffles at bay with a glass of Ginger Wine. Also good for cold days, darks nights, long walks… any excuse!


Savouries to savour


Our delicious drinks also make fantastic additions to your traditional Christmas recipes. Some Elderberry Port in the gravy will enrich its taste to complement your turkey, and our Cranberry Wine makes the perfect drink alongside your Christmas meal.


For those of you making your own Christmas ham, try cooking it in our Jack Ratt Scrumpy and Vintage Cider for that succulent pork-and-apple taste combination.


A sweet finish


If baking is more your thing, you can liven up a jar of mincemeat with 50mls of Sloe Liqueur, or mix some Elderberry and Port in with it when making your mince pies.


For a delicious cherry trifle, soak trifle sponge in Cherry Brandy, or add a slug of Apricot Brandy to your Christmas cake mix for a lovely fruity flavour.


Our luxurious liqueurs are always an after-dinner favourite and a splash of our Ginger Cream Liqueur is a decadent addition to any dessert.


If you are feeling more adventurous you could always try making a sumptuous cheesecake from our Butterscotch or Chocolate Orange Cream Liqueurs.


And finally, if you need a bit of winter warming up, make a mug of your favourite hot chocolate and stir in some Butterscotch Cream Liqueur to taste. If all this has got your taste buds tingling, it’s not too late to order in time for your Christmas jollities.
