We know from our customer feedback that people love the products we make and sell here at Lyme Bay, so we are always delighted when we enter them into the UK’s various annual food and drink awards and they come up trumps there as well.

As we are not particularly ones for blowing our own trumpet, we hope you’ll forgive us for this tiny toot about some of the awards successes we’ve achieved so far in 2015.

Taste of the West

The Taste of the West Awards have been promoting and supporting the South West food and drink industry for two decades.

This year we won Gold for our Tournament Mead, Whisky Ginger and Jack Ratt Scrumpy Cider. We also took home Silver for our Traditional Mead, Ginger Wine, Strawberry Wine, Elderflower & Lemon Reserve Liqueur, and Bacchus 2014 English Wine. In addition we were Highly Commended for our Elderflower Sparkling Wine, Elderberry & Port Liqueur, Shoreline 2014 English Wine and our Lyme Bay Sparkling Cider.

Great Taste Awards

Great Taste was established in 1994 by the Guild of Fine Food to encourage and mentor artisan food producers, offering a unique benchmarking and product evaluation service leading to an independent accreditation that enables them to compete against supermarket premium own label brands.

As well as being awarded the prestigious Great Taste accreditation as a producer with a proven track record of winning Great Taste for a minimum of three years, this year we also achieved One-Star Gold for our Elderflower Sparkling Wine, Damson Gin Reserve, Honey Liqueur, Ginger Wine and Moniack Mead.

International Cider Challenge 2015

The International Cider Challenge is designed to recognise the diversity and range of products within this dynamic and growing category. Ciders entered are blind tasted by an expert panel of independent judges and assessed according to their taste, appearance and aroma.

This year we took home a Bronze medal for our Lyme Bay Sparkling Cider.

2015 Decanter World Wine Awards

Now in its 12th year, the Decanter World Wine Awards is one of the world's largest and most influential wine competitions. Judged by the top wine experts from around the globe, it is trusted internationally for its rigorous judging process.

This year’s Awards saw us presented with Silver for our Shoreline 2014 English Wine, and Bronze for our Bacchus 2014 – a fantastic achievement for the first bottlings from our new English Wines range.

UK Vineyards Association Wine of the Year Competition

The English and Welsh Wine of the Year Competition is run by the industry for UK wine makers, and judged by a panel of Masters of Wine.

We were delighted to be awarded with Silver for our Pinot Noir Rose 2014, and Bronze for our Brut Reserve 2013 – another great recognition for wines from our newly launched English Wines range.

“As ever, we are very proud that our products have been recognised by some of the most well-respected judges and awarding bodies in the UK food and drinks industry,” says James Lambert, Director of Lyme Bay Winery. “None of this would come about without the all our hard work and dedication of every member of the Lyme Bay team, and this is something that we all strive to maintain as our business grows and progresses.”
