As the strong and mighty battle it out on the courts at Wimbledon and pedal hard after the coveted yellow jersey in the Tour de France, we are one step ahead of the competition already, celebrating our achievement of the BRC Global Standard (Issue 7) with a Grade A rating.

While you may not have heard of BRC, it’s a big deal in our world. A top brand and consumer protection organisation, its certification guarantees a standardised level of quality and safety to consumers around the world.

We are delighted to be the only English wine producer to currently hold this prestigious accreditation, as our production manager, Michael Heighway – who oversaw the BRC implementation – explains: “Achieving BRC is a significant achievement for us and I’m delighted, personally, with the result as it reflects the massive amount of work that everyone has dedicated to the improvement of our products and processes over the last few years.

Goods of the highest quality

“Holding BRC accreditation underlines our ability to produce goods of the highest quality and means, even more importantly, that we can pass that assurance on to our customers who can now see the standard we are working to,” adds Michael.

Here at Lyme Bay continual improvement remains at the heart of what we do, and we think the results speak for themselves. Since launching our English still and sparkling wines in 2015 we have won an impressive 70 awards, including the Pinot Noir Masters Competition, the Independent English Wine Awards, the International Wine Challenge, the Sommelier Wine Awards, the Decanter World Wine Awards, the International Wine & Spirits Competition and the UKVA Wine Awards.
